September 9, 2020 – Sage 10 by IBI Group, named as Grand Prize Award Recipient of the EIFS Council of Canada Architectural Design Awards Program 2020

The EIFS Council of Canada (ECC) is pleased to announce Sage 10 by IBI Group as the Grand Prize recipient of the Architectural Design Awards Program 2020. In a unanimous decision the Sage 10 project was selected by the Architectural Awards judging panel for the Grand Prize from among the six excellent category finalist projects. August 17, 2020 – Featured Finalist: McCarthy Residence

This week’s featured finalist is the McCarthy Residence by EZOL Design @Behzad Sabbaghi. This stunning custom-home project uses EIFS by @DuROCK Alfacing International Limited Canada. The project backs onto a ravine and several large windows frame the beautiful landscape without sacrificing privacy through clever floor plan manipulation. The home is designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and sustainable in its utilization of EIFS.

August 10, 2020 – Featured Finalist: Southeast Collegiate and Residence

This week, our feature finalist project is Southeast Collegiate and Residence by Cibinel Architecture Ltd. This beautiful institutional project uses BASF Wall Systems. Southeast Collegiate is a private high school composed of two portions, a two-storey concrete school, and a three-story wood framed residence. The use of EIFS allowed for a unique, 3-dimensonal façade along the south elevation of the building.

This week, our featured finalist is Home2 & Hilton Garden Inn – Dual Brand Towers by SAPLYS Architects Inc. @API Development Consultants Inc. The project uses @Sto Canada. The Home2 & Hilton Garden Inn – Dual Brand Towers is designed to be an iconic building that not only enhances the streetscape but also attracts guests and travellers from all over the world.

July 27, 2020 – Featured Finalist: 185 Kehl St

Our finalist this week is 185 Kehl St by @thinkform architecture + interiors. The renovation project uses @Dryvit Systems Canada. This 6-storey MURB in Kitchener, ON was originally constructed in the early 1980s. It’s striking EIFS renovation transforms it into one of Kitchener’s most distinctive gateway buildings.

This week our featured finalist is The Gatsby At City Square by @KNYMH Inc. A refined, and clean art deco aesthetic is achieved through the use of EIFS by @Durabond Products Limited. Located in the heart of downtown Hamilton, Ontario, the Gatsby is one of three towers in the trilogy of the City Square Development within Hamilton’s historic Durand neighbourhood.

July 13, 2020 – Featured Finalist: Sage 10

This week, our featured finalist is Sage 10 by IBI Group. This exciting project utilized EIFS by Durabond Products Limited in both a traditional and brick look EIFS finish. Sage 10 is beautiful condo-style residence designed as high-end accommodation for both students and young professionals in the Northdale area of Waterloo.

The flexibility of EIFS cladding provided the opportunity to express colour and texture to enliven the building, mimic traditional construction methods and wrapping it in continuous insulation. The building design has highlighted the capability of the EIFS building system and demonstrates to both local government and the public the versatility and performance of EIFS.

March 25, 2020 – SUBMISSIONS DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED FOR THE 2020 AWARDS!

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in Canada, the ECC has decided to extend the submissions deadline for the 2020 Awards. This will give firms and businesses more time to prepare submission packages as everyone transitions to a new normal.

The new deadline for the ECC Awards project submissions is Friday, April 17th, 2020.
